It’s starting to look like …. September! The various Guild members who work behind-the-scenes to keep our members updated with what’s going on in the textile world are beginning to really start working in earnest on the latest and greatest sources of information for you.
One area we’d like to push a bit harder than normal on this season is what’s known as “Social Media” – places like Facebook, Instagram, and Ravelry. Possibly even Reddit and/or Twitter, though we don’t have anyone conversant enough with those at the moment to commit to them – email the Social Media Committee at smc@thsg.org if you’d like to volunteer to help us with those.
You’ll see the links to our existing social media outlets at the bottom of the website pages. Take a look at them, interact with us using those methods, share with your friends. Send us photos and links to interesting places, people, and sites that you think could be promoted more fully by us than just you. Let us know if there’s another avenue you use for inspiration that we’re not on – we’re creators as well, you know, so we’d like to see what you’re seeing also.

We want to do a good job for our members, but with so few of us compared to all of you we need input to be comfortable we’re covering all the bases. Let us know!
Don’t forget – study groups as well as the monthly Guild meetings start in just a couple of weeks with the Dyeing and the Braids, Beads & Beyond study groups both meeting on September 1. But, even before that, this Sunday the 21st of August, we have the monthly Sunday chat at 2 p.m. So start getting yourself out of that summertime vacation mindset and start getting inspired to create!
