More info for you

Have you had the opportunity to check out the Guild’s 50th Anniversary Exhibit at the Jewish Community Center? It’s really something – Betty Headrick did an excellent job pulling it all together. I know our President, Judith Shangold, helped as well and I’m sure there were other people involved – for one thing, all of the folks that allowed the use of their older works to be exhibited!

The website has had a couple of additions, as well. There’s some information about the Arizona Federation of Weaving and Spinning Guilds under the Education/Other learning resources column with information on what’s going on in the state of Arizona for fiber arts. Also in that section is a listing of some of the many fiber events and conferences coming up this year and into next year. Some of the newest ones I’ve added are not focused primarily on weaving but spinning, knitting, and/or crochet but they also have workshops on weaving (usually rigid heddle) and kumihimo, sewing, pattern making and other options. If you become aware of a conference or event with classes/workshops dealing with the fiber arts that you think other THSG members might be interested in attending, please email me at emc@thsg.org so I can look into putting the information onto that page.

The Newsletter is now only sent to Members, so keep an eye out for that email the first of every month for a direct link to it. Or sign into the website and navigate to the Members Only area – look under the Membership tab for the last few years’ worth of Newsletters. Don’t forget about the advertising opportunities, as well. You can advertise your equipment and stash for sale in the Newsletter – check out the Handbook found under that same Membership tab in the Members Only area of the website for details, then email newsletter@thsg.org. And, under the Forms tab in the Members Only Area, you’ll find a link to a form you can fill out to get your personal website link onto our thsg.org website! So, if you have a one-time sale of something, get it advertised in the Newsletter; if you have a website where you sell your goods, advertise the URL from the THSG front page under the SHOPPING column.
