Ashford Spinning Wheels
TWO spinning wheels, very likely Ashford Traditional model from the 1970s but without identifying marks.  Wheels are identical except one has stenciled decorations.  Both are single treadle, single drive, with one bobbin each and a dark walnut finish.  Extra bobbins are easily available, since this wheel is still in production.  Very nice condition, ready to spin.  Includes some wool fleece from the donor’s own sheep. Buy either one, or find a spinning partner and adopt both of them!

$160 for one, $280 for both
Kromski Spinning Wheel

Double treadle Saxony wheel from 2003. Believed to be a Kromski Symphony, but without any Kromski marking.   Double drive setup, can also be changed to a single drive with Scotch tension.  In remarkably nice condition, mahogany stain, attractive workmanship.  Includes WooLee Winder flyer unit, 3 WooLee bobbins, extra whorl and threading hook.  Wheel is 24″ in diameter, and top of wheel is 38″ from the floor.  Spins smoothly, current new model sells for over $1000.

Vintage Spinning Wheel – “Accelerator” style

Vintage double treadle accelerator spinning wheel with 2 ratios, designed for fast, fine spinning. This beauty is unmarked, but similar to other old Quebec double wheels.  The donor said it is at least 50 years old and possibly 100. Size is 38″H x 36″W x 14″D . Wheel is functional and in remarkable condition for its age, but will likely need some adjustments.  Best for an intermediate or advanced spinner who is interested in a historic wheel.  The link below shows a nearly identical wheel in Maine, named Pierre Lapin (Peter Rabbit) by its owner.
