THSG-March RUG WEAVING Study Group

The Rug Weavers Study Group meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month in a hybrid meeting, with some members in the Week’s room at Grace St. Paul’s church and some via Zoom.
Our next meeting will be March 8 at 10 a.m. If anyone is interested in the meetings and is not currently getting announcements via email, please contact Shelley at shelleychaseolsen@gmail.com and we’ll get you on the mailing list.
Topics for the meeting will be:
– Getting started with Rag Rug weaving : headers and hems, good salvages, smiles and frowns and other tension issues, using two and three shuttles for pick and pick and color gradations, design ideas, fabric preparation and any other tips and tricks that the group wants to bring forward.

The group decided that our focus for the year will be to weave a piece of our choice in honor of one of our long time members, Sarah Sammons, who recently passed away. We’re going to weave with her favorite colors (HOT ones – reds, yellows and oranges) and liberal use of texture.
