Check the front page under Education, Movie Night, for the next addition to the NY/Philly monthly Fiber Artists movie nights. They’ve been doing this for a couple of years now, so they’ve put up a listing on the New York Guild of Handweavers’ website of all of the videos that they have watched and discussed.
Particularly if there’s a particular artist or topic that you’re interested in, check out this webpage to see if perhaps they’ve already done some of the searching for materials for you: NY listing of fiber arts videos
And be aware that there is *no* requirement that you be a member of either guild to show up and join in the fun of Movie Night! It’s a really easy way to get some exposure to some of the art that’s been created over the years, with commentary from folks who’ve been involved in the fiber arts for just about as long as many of the artists portrayed. I find the videos and slides that are shown to be interesting, if rarely my ‘cup of tea’, but the commentary from other weavers, knitters, etc. is well worth the time.
