THSG-February RUG WEAVING Study Group

The Rug Weavers Study Group meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month in a hybrid meeting, with some members in the Week’s room at Grace St. Paul’s church and some via Zoom.
Our next meeting will be Tuesday, February 8 at 10 a.m. If anyone is interested in the meetings and is not currently getting announcements via email, please contact Shelley at shelleychaseolsen@gmail.com
The group so enjoyed our outing to the Nizhoni Ranch Gallery in December that we are planning another: to the current exhibition of works by the Zapotec weaver from Oaxaca and California, Porfirio Gutierrez, that is currently at the Arizona State Museum. The final decision on the date is yet to be determined, but likely February 15.
Our focus for the year will be to weave a piece of our choice in honor of one of our long time members, Sarah Sammons, who recently passed away. We’re going to weave with her favorite colors (HOT ones – reds, yellows and oranges) and liberal use of texture.
